Plan your consultation in Brazil

I perform plastic surgery in Brazil with current techniques, working towards natural, individualised outcomes. I am dedicated to helping my patients discuss their aesthetic goals in a friendly and welcoming environment. The city where my clinic is based is an important medical centre in southern Brazil and one of the most pleasant cities in the region. It is a city where culture, services and innovation coexist naturally.

I take pride in carrying on the family tradition of care and dedication established by my father, who also shared his name with me. It is in tribute to him that I carry this legacy, and his professional reputation inspires my continuous pursuit of technical improvement.

Plastic surgery is a significant step; there are many important decisions that must be made regarding any aesthetic procedure before it is performed. In my clinic, I am committed to this step. From the first consultation with me, through the procedure and until the end of recovery, I will be with you every step of the way. You will be guided on the most appropriate pre-operative and post-operative practices so your surgery is planned with appropriate care. For details about the cost, visit our pricing page.

Thank you and congratulations, Dr. Walter Zamarian Jr.! - by L.B.R., 8th November 2014

Good morning, Dr. Walter. I didn't even have time to thank you for the care you took of me before, during, and after the surgery. Thank you very much for your dedication, effort, and patience with me. In short, I wanted to say that you did a great job. I am recovering very well and becoming happier with the result every day. For me, it was not just a physical change but it greatly elevated my self-esteem, which is very good for our ego. Congratulations on your work and for being the doctor you are. It is no wonder that wherever I go (cardiologist, physiotherapist, lymphatic drainage therapist, etc.) everyone praises you and says I was in good hands. May God continue to guide your hands as well as He has done until today and may He continue to guide you too. Have a good Sunday, see you on our return. A hug.

Today I find myself very happy - by T.S., 27th December 2012

Today I find myself very happy to have met Dr. Walter Zamarian. I will tell you a bit about my life; at 18, I had my first silicone implant because I had no breasts at all, and at 25, I decided to have another implant. That’s when the problem started; I had surgery with a doctor from Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, and had issues. She told me I had capsular contracture and that the problem was my body rejecting a foreign body. Up to that point, everything was fine, but after two years, I had to change it because I felt a lot of pain and discomfort. Now for the third implant: I had the surgery but again had this problem, according to her. It was obvious and palpable; what an embarrassment, I was desperate because I spoke with her, and she told me I would have to be without the implant. But God is very good because He gave me a light, which was Dr. Walter. I watched his videos, and from here in Rio, I said I would go to Londrina because I would have this surgery with this doctor. In the videos, he gave me confidence, and at that moment, it was what I needed. I went for the consultation and fortunately met this surgeon who is truly a great professional. I did the tests he requested, and with great calmness, he discussed the plan with me, and then I breathed a sigh of relief. I travelled with my husband to have the surgery on 20th December 2012, and I am great; I am happy with my result. I decided to write this story because you may have a problem and not know who to turn to. I can tell you that I have no words to describe my happiness. When you think about having surgery, you should choose a qualified specialist and discuss risks and expectations carefully. Thank you very much, Dr. Walter Zamarian; may God always be with you and your family...

An instrument of God - by S.M.P., 10th April 2010

I was feeling discouraged and very downcast, and I felt old and finished. My husband and daughters constantly told me that I was no longer beautiful. I prayed a lot to God to choose a doctor so I could smile again, and that’s when I met Dr. Walter Zamarian; he was for me an instrument used by God. He dedicated his time and care to me. I am always grateful for what he did for me. I gradually felt more confident about taking care of myself again. I believe I can still improve in other aesthetic areas, and it would be satisfying to do so with Dr. Walter, as I value his care and dedication. If there is anyone in this situation like I felt, I have a tip: seek a qualified specialist who listens carefully and discusses expectations responsibly.

Excellent professional! - by T.C.M., 28th June 2011

Hello, everyone. I would like to share the emotional experience I had. I am the mother of three beautiful children, I am 30 years old, and after three pregnancies, many things changed in my body. I hadn’t worn a bikini for about eight years and didn’t like looking in the mirror. After much thought, I decided to take action and change what was bothering me. So, my friends, the search began for a professional who would look at me and convey confidence and help me decide on the most suitable option. After meeting Dr. Walter Zamarian, my life began to change; upon meeting him, I felt supported and more confident about the plan. We confirmed the date for the plastic surgery and the procedures we would undertake. What made me happy was when Dr. Walter Zamarian entered the room where the surgery was performed, and then he removed the dressings from my abdomen. Folks, I was so emotional; you have no idea; I looked at Dr. Walter and, feeling emotional, I said, do you know how long it has been since I have seen my abdomen like this? He gently replied, you liked it? I loved it! I wish everyone, regardless of whether they are men or women, would choose a professional like the one I had the great pleasure of being operated on by, starting with his secretary Priscila, who always treats you with great kindness, then the entire team that accompanies Dr. Walter; after the surgery, we already have a great professional to take care of those little discomforts like swelling, oedema... we can count on the drainage sessions with Bruna, who is also very helpful. In short, today I look in the mirror and like what I see; my husband loves my new look. I hope my words help you decide on a qualified specialist who answers your questions, conveys confidence, supports you, and does balanced, natural work. I wish all readers well and hope they choose a qualified specialist they trust after consultation.

Deserves my tribute - by C.S.M., 3rd February 2012

What can I say about this great doctor and very patient friend? He is certainly an excellent professional, dedicated, attentive, honourable, somewhat of a perfectionist, and was described by the patient as offering remarkable care and support. He is a blessed being, with great knowledge and capability. An important person who deserves tributes because with care, attention, and friendship, he supports his patients through important changes. May the rays of divine light illuminate your path. Dedication and constant study mark his daily life, which, on many occasions, he sacrifices his time and schedule to always be ready to see to the most urgent calls (or what his patients consider urgent, right?). Thank you for everything...

Discover Londrina

Londrina is a city that smiles and welcomes its residents and visitors with open arms. Born from the efforts of pioneers who arrived here in the 1930s, it developed rapidly, becoming the second city in Paraná and the third in the South of the country. It is a hospitable, cheerful city full of life. Several factors have contributed to this.

The beginning of its history already showed the potential to develop wealth: Londrina grew under the green gold, our coffee, a culture that propelled the municipality in its early decades of life, even being known as the “Coffee Capital”. Coffee gave the city its first achievements and is still remembered as a milestone in its history.

Londrina has always been a city of vision. Even amidst the red earth, when progress was still an aspiration, the pioneers did not neglect basic needs such as education and health, and even in the 1930s and 40s, Londrina saw the birth of its first schools and hospitals. The Santa Casa opened its doors in 1944, 8 years after the creation of the Santa Casa Brotherhood (established in 1936); the first school in the city was inaugurated on June 26, 1931, even before its emancipation, which would only occur in 1934. It was founded by Germans in the district of Heimtal.

This brief history shows the strength that the city acquired since the first pink perobas were cut down, opening clearings where the pioneers began to establish the future city. The first hundreds of residents multiplied and today exceed 500,000. Data from the last census show that 506,000 people live here. A large part of them works in retail – more than 33,000 people. Industry and the service sector (including health) are other strong drivers of this regional centre, which has grown into a university and medical hub for northern Paraná, hosting the State University of Londrina (UEL) and a network of hospitals and specialist clinics that attract patients from across Brazil and abroad.

In the health sector, Londrina is also a highlight and a hub of the region. About 8,000 people work in the medical, dental, and veterinary fields (Source: MTERAIS, 2010). Knowledge and investment in the area have been long-standing. The Medicine course began to be offered in Londrina on February 15, 1967, at what was then the Faculty of Medicine of Northern Paraná. In 1970 it would become the UEL, an institution where Dr. Walter Zamarian Jr. studied Medicine and completed his residency in General Surgery. The complement of his training – the study in Plastic Surgery – was done at the School of Professor Ivo Pitanguy in Rio de Janeiro.

UEL is now a leading institution in medical education, attracting students from all over Brazil – and even foreigners. Each year, about 80 new doctors graduate from the institution. Residency courses offered at the same location complement the training of new professionals.

Data from the city hall of Londrina indicate that there are 19 hospitals in the city, totalling more than 1,600 beds, a space that receives patients not only from the municipality but from other regions – and even other states – in search of excellence in care. This excellence began with the concern of the pioneers, still in the 1940s.

My plastic surgery clinic is located at Rua Engenheiro Omar Rupp, 186, in Jardim Londrilar, near the Gleba Palhano area. The hotel closest to my clinic is Comfort Suites, opposite Shopping Catuaí.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I book my consultation?

You can book your consultation by contacting my office via WhatsApp at the number +55 43 99192-2221. My team will check the availability of times and confirm the booking. I also offer online consultations for patients who live outside Brazil or far from the clinic.

What should I bring to my first consultation?

At the first consultation, I recommend bringing your personal documents, recent tests you have, and a list of your questions and expectations regarding the procedure. It is also important to inform me about any medications you are taking, allergies, and pre-existing health conditions. The more information I have, the better I can assess your case and propose the most suitable surgical plan.

How many consultations will I have before my plastic surgery?

I conduct the first consultation to assess your plastic surgery plan and request the necessary tests. Before the surgery, I will see you for a follow-up to evaluate the test results, take photos, and answer any remaining questions. This process helps align the clinical information, timing and remaining questions before the surgery date.

How far in advance can I plan my surgery?

I recommend at least one week in advance to allow comfortable time for the essential pre-operative tests and the photos that are used during plastic surgery. However, depending on the procedure and your availability, we can plan further in advance so the pre-operative steps are organised calmly.

When will I be admitted? And when will I be discharged?

I recommend that you be admitted on the day of the surgery, approximately one hour before the booked time. Discharge usually occurs the following day, about 24 hours after your surgery. In some minor procedures, discharge may be on the same day, and I evaluate this on a case-by-case basis according to clinical safety and comfort.

Where will my plastic surgery be performed?

All surgeries are performed at Hospital do Coração — Unidade Bela Suíça, in Londrina-PR, Brazil. It is a modern hospital, with state-of-the-art equipment, a complete surgical centre and a dedicated nursing team, which contributes to a more closely monitored post-operative experience.

How will I know about the instructions after my plastic surgery?

Upon your discharge, I will provide you with a written prescription with all the post-operative instructions for a well-guided recovery. Additionally, my team will be available to answer any questions that may arise during the recovery period, and I provide direct contact instructions.

When will my first follow-up after the surgery be?

The first follow-up occurs about two days after your discharge. In this consultation, I assess the initial progress of your recovery, check the dressings, and answer any questions that may have arisen in the first few days. It is an important step for monitoring the early recovery period.

Will I have other follow-ups after the surgery?

Follow-up after surgery is scheduled at defined intervals throughout recovery. Follow-ups usually occur one to two days, seven days, fourteen days, three weeks, one month, two months, six months, and one year after the surgery. This regular monitoring allows me to track healing and identify issues early.

When are the before and after photos taken?

The before photos are taken at the follow-up between the first consultation and your surgery. The after photos are taken starting two months later, when the results are more evident. These photos are important to document the evolution and final result of the procedure.

Is there a number I can contact if I have any questions after being operated on?

Patients receive direct contact instructions for urgent post-operative questions after surgery. I believe that close follow-up is essential, especially in the first days after the surgery, and my team explains how to reach us if a concern arises.

Is it possible to have an online consultation?

An online consultation is available for patients who live outside Brazil or far from the clinic. The consultation can be done via Google Meet, FaceTime, Skype, or WhatsApp video, on Saturdays from 8 am to 12 pm (Brazil time, GMT-3). After the online consultation, I ask that my patients arrive in Brazil one or two days before the surgery so that I can examine them in person and confirm the surgical plan.
