Care begins with a conversation.
And continues for a year.

I want you to know the people who will welcome you, understand how we prepare for surgery, and know who you can count on at each step. Here I describe the usual journey of a patient who has a facelift with me, from your first contact to the follow-up of your results.

Your journey in Londrina: at a glance

What is the journey like for a facelift patient of mine?

The journey runs from your first contact with Bruna, my AI assistant, to one year of follow-up. It begins with an in-person or online consultation, followed by tests and another in-person consultation. Surgery takes place at Hospital do Coração, Bela Suíça unit, in Londrina, and discharge, after my assessment, is usually the next morning.

  • Reservation: a deposit of 10% of the surgeon’s fee, arranged with João.
  • Travel: arrive two days early and stay at least 12 days, preferably 14; I confirm your return date.
  • Stitches: removed in stages, usually at 7, 10, and 14 days.
  • Companion: traveling with a companion is not required.
  • Follow-up: visits for one year, in person or online, and 24-hour WhatsApp support with Isanna and me.
  • Emergencies: if you have shortness of breath or chest pain, seek medical care immediately.

Time to get to know us, ask questions and decide.

01

Your first contact is with Bruna, my AI assistant.

On WhatsApp, Bruna answers your first questions about the consultation. Whenever you'd like to speak with a person, or you're ready to book, she connects you with Isanna, who schedules your appointment and supports you through the next steps. You can let them know where you are coming from and whether you prefer to start with an in-person or online consultation.

02

Amanda welcomes you at the office.

A coffee or cappuccino, a conversation and time to settle in. Amanda takes care of your arrival so you feel comfortable before the assessment. Then João does the intake and completes your patient record.

03

In the consultation, I want to hear from you.

We talk about what bothers you and what you hope for. I examine your face, draw up a personalized surgical plan and explain the procedures I propose. I set this time aside to answer your questions and show cases I have operated on, putting them in context so you can see what may make sense for you.

If the consultation is online: we do a preliminary assessment by video call. I confirm the plan at an in-person assessment before surgery.

04

João organizes the next steps.

After the consultation, you meet with João again to receive the quote, the test orders and the information about your hospital stay. With this information, you can choose the available date that best fits your plans.

You can reserve the date with João at that point or later with Isanna, by paying a deposit of 10% of the surgeon's fee. João explains the reservation terms before payment.

05

We talk again before surgery.

You have your preoperative tests and return to the office in person. At this visit, I take the photographs, review the tests and answer any questions that have come up. If you prefer, you can send the tests in advance through the team's WhatsApp.

Payment for the surgery is arranged with João. He also gives you the instructions for the day: admission time, fasting, what to bring, having a companion, and details such as nail polish. You receive the instructions that apply to your case, without having to guess each detail.

Plan your trip with the team's support.

I want the distance between your home and Londrina to be taken into account from the start of planning. Plan to arrive two days before surgery: the day before, we will have the in-person consultation and take the photographs. After surgery, set aside at least 12 days in Londrina, preferably 14. I confirm your return date based on your recovery; coordinate your travel plans with Isanna before booking flights.

Where to stay

My team can recommend an apartment or Airbnb accommodation for your stay.

Getting around

We can recommend a driver to help with trips between your accommodation, the office and the hospital.

Who stays with you

We can also recommend a caregiver. Work out availability, services and fees with them directly before your trip. Traveling with a companion is not required.

Everything arranged for the next morning.

Check the instructions you received, arrange your transportation and follow the fasting and medication times set for you.

Medication prescribed for the facelift

Follow the medication list you received in advance: some adjustments need to be planned weeks ahead. The day before, check your individual prescription. Medications, doses and times are in the instructions given to you. If the time of surgery changes, confirm the plan before making any adjustment.

A night of rest

Pack your bag and arrange transportation so you can rest. If medication has been prescribed for the night before, follow only your individual instructions; do not add sleep aids on your own.

From meeting at the hospital to my visit before discharge.

Surgery takes place at Hospital do Coração, Bela Suíça unit, in Londrina. These are the usual times in our routine; the team confirms the schedule and adapts care to your progress.

  1. Two hours before

    Arriving at the hospital

Plan to arrive two hours before the scheduled time of surgery, following the admission and fasting instructions you received at the office.

  2. In the operating room

Flávia welcomes you in the room.

Flávia, my surgical scrub nurse, welcomes you in the operating room. I then make the surgical markings: I mark the facial details to be treated and, when fat grafting is part of the plan, the donor area. This is the preparation for carrying out what we discussed in the consultation.

  3. After surgery

    Monitored recovery

You stay in the post-anesthesia recovery unit for about two hours before returning to your room. The transfer depends on the team's assessment.

  4. Between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m.

    My visit to your room

I usually come to assess the patients I have operated on between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. The nursing team continues to look after you during your stay.

  5. Around 5 a.m.

    Shower and hair care

Depending on how you feel and once the team allows it, the nursing staff helps you shower and wash your hair before the discharge assessment.

  6. Around 7:30 a.m.

    I assess you for discharge.

The morning after surgery, I come back to assess your recovery and discharge you when everything is as it should be. This is expected around 7:30 a.m., but discharge only happens after my assessment.

You leave the hospital.
The follow-up continues.

We arrange the first follow-up visits and the additional care so you know who will see you and when. The procedures below depend on my recommendation and on how your healing progresses. In this timeline, the day of surgery is day zero and the next day is day 1. Timeframes are counted from the surgery.

Around day 2 after surgery

Net removal with Amanda

You return to the office to have the hemostatic net removed. Amanda, who is also a nurse, does this under my guidance.

From day 4 after surgery

Two hair washes with Renan

Once I give the go-ahead, hair care continues at the Diogo Guerra salon with Renan. You receive two washes to help gently remove the surgical soap and crusts and to help your hair look like itself again.

From the fifth day after surgery

Lymphatic drainage with Gisele

Once cleared, lymphatic drainage begins with Gisele. She comes to your home or hotel, which makes things easier for patients staying in Londrina during recovery.

From the tenth day after surgery

Endermologie, if indicated

Once I allow it, endermologie can become part of your care. There are usually ten sessions with Gisele in total. The combination and frequency of care depend on my guidance, your progress and how long you stay in Londrina. Schedule your sessions before your trip.

Stitches are removed in stages, usually at 7, 10 and 14 days after surgery. If you need to travel, I can bring the last removal forward to day 12, depending on healing. The team confirms the dates and which stitches will be removed at each visit.

I want to follow your progress closely.

My care does not end when the stitches come out. I follow you for a year, with scheduled visits and room to assess what needs attention at each stage. This is a central commitment in the way I work.

Your follow-up visits with me

  • 7 days
  • 14 days
  • 30 days
  • 2 months
  • 6 months
  • 1 year

These are the usual minimum follow-up visits with me after surgery. In addition, there is my discharge assessment, the visit with Amanda to remove the net and the stitch removals, including at ten days. We can add assessments as needed. Postoperative photographs are scheduled at 2, 6 and 12 months.

If you live far away

When attending in person is not possible, follow-up visits can take place online, depending on the stage and my assessment. We also agree on how to get the photographs. A remote consultation does not replace an in-person examination when one is needed.

If a question comes up between visits

You have access to the office during business hours and 24-hour WhatsApp support with Isanna and me throughout follow-up. I want you to have someone to turn to, and the team to know how you are progressing.

If you have shortness of breath, chest pain or any other emergency, seek emergency care immediately; do not wait for a text reply.

One step at a time.

These are the usual timeframes I use to plan facelift recovery. Each clearance depends on your progress and the procedures performed; the calendar alone does not mean you can resume an activity.

First ten days

Plan how you will get around.

The usual advice is not to drive for ten days. After that, driving again depends on my clearance and on safe conditions, including the medications you are taking.

Around two weeks

Back to social life

In my practice, many patients feel comfortable making social plans at around two weeks; by the third week, this is true for the great majority. There may still be swelling, and recovery varies. Talk to me before taking on important commitments.

During the first month

Protect your rest.

My usual advice is to sleep on your back and not exercise for a month. That does not mean staying still: everyday movement should follow the instructions you receive from the team.

After one month

Ease back in.

With my clearance, you can go back to sleeping on your side and resume light activities such as walking, cycling and the gym at about half your usual load.

After two months

I assess your return to full activity.

If recovery is going well, I clear activities such as running, spinning and the gym at your usual load. We confirm this stage during follow-up, taking into account your condition and the procedures performed.

Get ready for each step with a clearer picture.

What should we agree on in advance?

Can I start with an online consultation?

Yes. We talk by video call for a preliminary assessment. Before surgery, I examine you in person to confirm the plan. Isanna helps arrange these appointments.

Is the deposit 10% of the whole surgery?

The deposit required to reserve the date is 10% of the surgeon's fee. João presents the quote and explains the payments involved before you reserve the date.

How long do I need to stay in Londrina?

Plan to arrive two days before surgery and stay at least 12 days afterwards, preferably 14. The in-person consultation and photographs take place the day before. I can bring the last stitch removal forward to day 12 depending on healing; I confirm your return date before you travel. Later consultations can be online when appropriate.

Can I use this page as my prescription?

No. It describes how care is usually organized. Your prescription, medication and fasting times, and clearances are individual. If anything differs or is unclear, check with my team before acting.

Does follow-up end when I go home?

No. I follow your progress for a year. Even if you live outside Londrina, you keep the agreed follow-up visits and WhatsApp support with Isanna and me.

Now that you know the way, we can talk about your first step.
