Frequently Asked Questions about Body Plastic Surgery and Intimate Surgery

What body plastic surgery procedures do you perform?

I perform a comprehensive range of body plastic surgery and female intimate surgery procedures at my clinic in Londrina, Brazil. My specialties include labiaplasty (labia reduction), pubic liposuction, fat grafting to the labia majora, clitoral hood reduction, and vaginoplasty. Each procedure is planned individually, taking into account the anatomy and aesthetic goals of each patient.

What is labiaplasty and how is it performed?

Labiaplasty, also called labia reduction or labial surgery, is the surgical reduction of the labia minora. I prefer the wedge technique labiaplasty, which I learned directly from Dr. Gary Alter in the United States. This technique removes a wedge-shaped segment and preserves the natural edge of the labia, providing an attractive and predictable aesthetic result.

Does female intimate surgery hurt a lot?

In my experience, intimate surgery is very well tolerated by patients. The procedure is performed with appropriate anesthesia, ensuring total comfort during the surgery. During recovery, discomfort is minimal and easily controlled with over-the-counter pain medication, allowing a return to light activities in a few days.

What is the recovery time after intimate surgery?

The recovery from intimate surgery is surprisingly quick. Most of my patients return to their daily activities in about 3 to 5 days. I recommend avoiding intense physical exercise for 3 weeks and sexual intercourse for approximately 40 days to ensure complete healing of the tissues.

Does labia reduction leave visible scars?

One of the great advantages of the wedge technique I use is that the scar is virtually imperceptible. The suture is performed with delicate threads that are absorbed by the body, and the final scar blends into the natural folds of the area. After a few weeks, it becomes very difficult to tell that any surgery was performed.

What is pubic liposuction and who is it recommended for?

Pubic liposuction, also known as mons pubis liposuction, is recommended for women who have excess fat in the mons pubis -- the area above the pubic bone that can cause discomfort when wearing tight pants or a bikini. I perform precise pubic area contouring through small incisions, restoring a smooth and natural contour to the area.

Is it possible to combine more than one body procedure in the same surgery?

Yes, in many cases it is possible and even advantageous to combine procedures. For example, I can combine labia reduction with pubic liposuction or with fat grafting to the labia majora in the same surgical session. This reduces the number of anesthesia sessions and allows for a single recovery, as long as the combination is safe for the patient.

What type of anesthesia is used in body and intimate surgeries?

The type of anesthesia depends on the procedure. Labia reduction, for example, can be performed with local anesthesia combined with sedation, providing total comfort without the risks of general anesthesia. In more extensive or combined procedures, epidural or general anesthesia may be necessary. I discuss the options with each patient during the consultation.

What is the initial consultation like for body plastic surgery?

In the initial consultation, I conduct a complete evaluation of the area to be treated, discuss the patient's expectations, and explain the procedure in detail, including technique, risks, and postoperative care. It is the perfect time to ask all your questions. I also request preoperative tests to ensure that the patient is in optimal condition for surgery.

Are the results of intimate surgery permanent?

Yes, the results of labia reduction and pubic liposuction are permanent. The tissue removed does not grow back. In the case of fat grafting to the labia majora, a portion of the grafted fat is absorbed by the body in the first months, but the volume that remains after this period lasts long-term.
