At a glance: what goes into a deep plane facelift quote?

I do not publish surgery prices: I give you a written quote after your evaluation, based on the plan recommended for you. For a deep plane facelift, it covers my fee, the anesthesia team, the operating room, materials, your hospital stay and follow-up visits for up to one year after surgery at no extra charge. Travel, lodging, a driver and a caregiver are separate.

Consultation: R$ 900, in person or online.
Included: surgeon’s fee, anesthesia, hospital, materials, hospital stay and one year of follow-up.
Combined procedures: blepharoplasty, brow lift and lip lift, when indicated, do not add to the cost of surgery; a chin implant adds only the cost of the implant.

Wanting to understand the cost before you decide is natural. Surgery has to fit your finances, your time and the support you will have during recovery. Why I do not publish a surgery price

Brazil’s Federal Council of Medicine does not allow physicians to advertise the price of surgery. There is also a practical reason: the words “deep plane facelift” do not describe everything that will be done in your case. Two proposals with the same name can treat different areas, may or may not include the neck, and may or may not include fat grafting. The parts of the plan that drive the quote are covered in my article on how much a facelift costs.

So I start by listening to what bothers you and what you hope to change. Then I examine your face and neck, review your health, previous surgery and treatments, and explain what surgery can and cannot do. The ASPS also describes the consultation as the time to assess you and discuss your expectations. The quote follows from that plan, not from a price list.

What your quote covers

Surgeon’s fee and team

I perform the evaluation and prepare the quote myself. The document lists my fee and the surgical team’s role in the approved plan.

Hospital, anesthesia and hospital stay

I operate at Hospital do Coração Bela Suíça in Londrina, with a dedicated anesthesia team; for a facelift, I use total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA). The quote includes the operating room, the planned materials and your hospital stay: after a facelift, you go home the next morning.

One year of follow-up

Postoperative follow-up visits are included in the cost of surgery for up to one year, at no extra charge. While you are in Londrina, I see you in person often; once you are back home, follow-up continues online. Small touch-ups that can be done in the office are also included; if a larger revision is needed, we discuss the options and any costs beforehand.

Procedures combined with a facelift

In my practice, blepharoplasty, brow lift and lip lift do not add to the cost of surgery when they are indicated together with the facelift. That does not mean everyone needs all three: each one goes into the plan only if it makes a difference for your face. For a chin implant (mentoplasty), the only addition is the cost of the solid silicone implant: the hospital, anesthesia, surgery and team stay the same.

I perform deep neck surgery as part of a facelift, when indicated; on its own, only in rare, carefully selected cases after an assessment. Facial fat grafting adds about two hours of surgery and a donor site, so facelifts with and without fat grafting are quoted separately, and the one without grafting costs less. The only combined procedure that adds to the cost is fat grafting to the hands. Always ask why a procedure is being suggested and what it is expected to achieve.

What is separate, and what to confirm

Consultation: R$ 900, in person or online. If your first consultation was online, the in-person visit before surgery is not charged again. For patients who have already had surgery with me and want to consider another procedure, a new assessment costs R$ 500.
Tests and medications: paid separately. You can have the preoperative tests done in your home country or in Londrina, whichever you prefer; medications are bought at a pharmacy.
Travel and lodging: flights, a hotel or apartment, meals and local transport.
Hired support: the team can recommend a driver and a companion or caregiver, both hired separately.

A recommendation from the team does not mean the service is included in the surgical quote. I do not work with health insurance: I see private-pay patients only.

Plan your stay before you book

I ask you to arrive in Londrina two days before surgery. The day before, we hold the in-person consultation and take photographs. After the operation, plan to stay at least 12 days, preferably 14. You are cleared to fly based on how you heal, not on the date of your ticket.

Keep your travel budget separate from the surgical quote: fares, lodging and exchange rates change, and your own itinerary is more useful than someone else’s estimate. Include the time off work as well, even though it never appears on an invoice. The CDC advises people traveling for medical care to plan follow-up and bring copies of their medical records. How to compare two proposals

A currency conversion cannot tell you whether two proposals cover the same care. Put them side by side and answer the same questions for each one, instead of comparing only the totals:

Which areas and procedures are described?
Who operates, and who else is on the team?
Which hospital will the surgery take place in, and how is anesthesia handled?
Which materials, medications and hospital costs are included?
Which follow-up visits are included, and for how long?
Who answers questions and handles unexpected problems after surgery, including after you go home?
Which expenses could arise outside the quoted amount?
What are the payment, deposit and rescheduling terms?

A blank answer does not mean an item is missing; it means it still needs to be clarified. A high or low price does not prove quality either: check the surgeon’s training and specialist registration, and the hospital. You can read about my background on the Dr. Zamarian page.

Payment and reserving your date

You can pay by PIX or TED (within Brazil), cash, credit card in up to 10 installments, or cryptocurrency (USDT and USDC). Terms for paying in full are presented at your consultation. Your date is reserved with a deposit of 10% of the surgeon’s fee, after you approve the quote. The details are on my pricing page.

If the plan changes after the in-person evaluation, ask for an updated quote that shows what changed: nothing is charged without your knowledge and consent.

Frequently asked questions

Does a deep plane facelift always cost the same?

No. The name of the technique is not a price list. I define the plan after evaluating you, and the quote describes the procedures and services in that plan.

Can I get a quote from photographs?

No. We can start with an online consultation, but the plan is confirmed in person before surgery, and the quote reflects that plan.

Are follow-up visits charged?

No. Follow-up visits are included in the cost of surgery for up to one year: in person while you are in Londrina and online once you are back home.

Does combining procedures raise the cost?
