At a glance: what should you clarify before traveling to Brazil for a facelift?
Before booking surgery or buying flights, confirm who will look after you, where the operation and follow-up visits take place, what the quote includes and who will help during recovery. An online consultation can start the conversation, but I confirm the plan at an in-person examination. For a facelift in Londrina, plan to arrive 2 days before surgery and stay 12 to 14 days.
- Registration: check the medical license (CRM) and specialty (RQE) in the Federal Council of Medicine’s official search.
- Consultation: online to start; the plan is confirmed in person the day before surgery.
- Arrival: 2 days before surgery.
- Stay: 12 to 14 days in Londrina after surgery.
- Support: my team can recommend a driver and a companion or caregiver, hired separately; coming with a companion is not required.
- Follow-up: visits for 1 year and 24-hour WhatsApp support from Isanna and me.

Four answers to have before you book
Who is responsible for your care?
Know the name of the surgeon who will assess and operate on you, how to verify their license, and who answers administrative and clinical questions.
Where does each stage take place?
The office and the hospital have different roles. Confirm the addresses for the consultation, admission and follow-up before choosing where to stay.
Who will help you recover?
Staying near the clinic doesn’t replace help with getting around and everyday tasks. Sort this out before you travel.
What if the plan changes?
Ask how a postponement, additional tests or a longer stay would be handled. A non-refundable ticket shouldn’t put pressure on a medical decision.
Check the license and the specialty
Brazil’s Federal Council of Medicine (Conselho Federal de Medicina) has an official physician search (in Portuguese). Check the name, the status of the license and the registered specialty. CRM is the medical license number, and RQE is the specialist qualification record. My details: Walter Zamarian Jr., CRM-PR 17.388, RQE 15.688. My training and background complete the picture, and criteria for comparing surgeons are in how to choose a facelift surgeon in Brazil.
Online consultation, in-person confirmation
An online consultation makes the first contact easier: I listen to your priorities and ask about previous surgery and treatments, medications and health. It prepares the assessment but is not a final recommendation. The day before surgery, I see you in person and take photographs; a finding on examination or a test result may change the plan. Ask what is still pending before you make commitments.
Hospital, office and accommodation
I operate at Hospital do Coração Bela Suíça in Londrina; consultations and follow-up visits are at my clinic. After a facelift, discharge is usually the next morning, after I’ve seen you, and it shouldn’t be treated as a fixed departure time. The hospital guide walks you through admission.
Choose accommodation with follow-up visits in mind, along with the help you’ll need and the option of extending your stay. My team can suggest accommodation, a driver and a companion or caregiver; these services are hired and paid for separately, directly with the provider.
The quote describes the care being offered
The quote is individual and comes after the assessment. Before comparing offers, check which procedures are listed, what is included and what is arranged separately, such as accommodation and transport. Follow-up visits for 1 year are included in the surgical fee. The article on what goes into the cost of a facelift in Brazil helps you read a quote, without publishing surgical prices.
If you plan to rely on insurance, tell the insurer that the trip involves elective surgery and ask for written confirmation of what is covered. The CDC distinguishes travel disruption insurance, travel health insurance and medical evacuation insurance: one doesn’t guarantee the others [1].
Allow time for follow-up, not just for surgery
For patients coming from abroad, I plan arrival in Londrina 2 days before surgery and a stay of 12 to 14 days afterward, which covers the first follow-up visits and stitch removal. That interval reflects my routine; it is not automatic clearance to fly. Your return date depends on how you’re recovering, so leave room to change it. The patient journey shows each stage, and the international patient guide covers the trip in more detail.
Follow-up after you return home
I follow you for 1 year, with in-person and online visits as appropriate, plus 24-hour WhatsApp support from Isanna and me. The CDC advises agreeing before you travel on how complications would be handled, and asking for copies of your medical records in English [2]. Messages and photos can’t replace every examination: if you suspect a complication, get medical care where you are rather than waiting for an online reply.
Questions
Can I buy flights after the online consultation?
First, find out what depends on the in-person examination and how much flexibility you’ll need. The initial proposal can change after the examination.
Do I need to stay 14 days after surgery?
I ask for 12 to 14 days in Londrina. Clearance to travel is assessed during recovery.
Do I need to bring a companion?
It isn’t required. If you come alone, my team can recommend a companion or caregiver and a driver, hired separately.
Does 1 year of follow-up replace care close to home?
Not in an emergency. I follow your recovery remotely when appropriate, but an urgent problem needs local care.
